The Ayers Island Project has received a number of grants. Here is a preliminary list:
$180,000 in grants from the U.S. EPA to study pollution on Ayers Island (the upshot is that Ayers Island is fairly clean for an industrial site.
$25,000 EDA grant to help pay for the Sebago
Technics Report.
$10,000 CDBG grant to help pay for the Sebago
Technics Report.
$750,000 grant from the EPA to establish a revolving loan fund to be used for cleanup.
$600,00 grant from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development to help defray the cost of a new bridge.
An expenditure of $250,000 by the Maine Department of Transportation to survey the site and develop the plans for a new two lane bridge.
