Ayers Island is playing a role in the cultural life of the state of Maine and beyond. We are interested in linking cultural activities to economic development and societal changes. The summer of 2004 will see the inauguration of the annual Ayers Island Contemporary Arts Festival linking Maine artists and the local community to the world at large. The theme for this year will be Without Borders. Ayers Island also supports "Creative Economy" ideas as put forth by Governor Baldacci through an emphasis on the creative process in all of our activities.
